Eisenhower On this day in 1903, "Near Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, Orville and Wilbur Wright [made] the first successful flight in history of a self-propelled, heavier-than-air aircraft. Orville piloted the gasoline-powered, propeller-driven biplane, which stayed aloft for 12 seconds and covered 120 feet on its inaugural flight. . . . The modern aviation age was born. Three more tests were made that day, with Wilbur and Orville alternately flying the airplane. Wilbur flew the last flight, covering 852 feet in 59 seconds." Photo Credit: Elizabeth Lawson elizabethwinpennylawson.com Used by permission Poet: Robert Frost Year written: 1922 Year published: 1923 Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound’s the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep. " He giveth snow like wool " Psalm 147:16 KJV

Artist: Matt Maher Year: 2016 One star burns in the darkness, Shines with the promise—Emmanuel. One child born in the stillness, Living within us—Emmanuel. We're singing, "Glory, glory! Let there be peace. Let there be peace." Singing, "Glory, glory! Let there be peace. Let it start in me." One voice speaks for the voiceless, Hope for the hopeless—Emmanuel. One love brings us together, Now and forever—Emmanuel. We're singing, "Glory, glory! Let there be peace. Let there be peace." Singing, "Glory, glory! Let there be peace. Let it start in me." Do not be afraid. His love is strong enough to save us. Nothing stands in the way. His love is strong enough to lead us. We sing, "Glory, glory! Let there be peace. Let there be peace." Singing, "Glory, glory! Let there be peace. Let it start in me. Let there be peace. Let it start in me." "let the peace of God rule in your hearts"
