“Be Still, My Soul” | HYMN of the week

Image
Words:  Katharina Amalia Dorothea von Schlegel (1752) Translation: Jane Laurie Borthwick (1855) Music:  Jean Sibelius (1899) Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side; Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain; Leave to thy God to order and provide; In every change He faithful will remain. Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end. Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake To guide the future, as He has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake; All now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below. Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart, And all is darkened in the vale of tears, Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart, Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears. 1 Corinthians 10:31 | VERSE of the week

"Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

some notes

I plan to do the "of the weeks" each Friday at 1:23:45 P.M., pertaining to the current week of Sunday-Saturday. The "of the weeks" are mostly based on personal preference. The "of the weeks" do not  necessarily  pertain to current events. Unless otherwise noted, all Scripture quotations are from the King James Version. The current background is Among the Sierra Nevada Mountains, California by Albert Bierstadt.

Bienvenidos!

Welcome to my blog called  Of the Week. In this blog, I will (Lord willing) post something "of" every week:  something of the week. It might be a verse, a picture, a painting, a download, a website, a tip, a quote, a fact, a video, a song, a historical person, a grammar rule, an "on this day," a story, a link, an idea—the list goes on and on. But whatever it is, it is, at least according to me, the "whatever" of that week. Basically,  Of the Week will feature some thing each week: the "of the week." So get ready for "of the week" by mark!
